Strategic direction setting- What are you looking to achieve?

Before engaging in 90 days of hectic activity, you need to know what the change project is attempting to achieve.

Ask yourself these questions:

Setting your vision

What do you want to achieve? What factors are important?
What are the pieces of this issue? Where do you need TO BE (by the end of 90 days)?

Describing your current reality

What is the situation? Where are we now? What is the concern?
What are the contributing factors? Why is it like this?

Defining your mission

What is the gap between your Vision and your Current Reality?
What do you need to do to close the gap?
What is the business of your team? What do you need TO DO (by the end of 90 days)?

Sorting out your measures of success

What will success look like? How will you know that you have achieved your milestones?

Establish your exit criteria

What will tell you that it is time to quit; to stop throwing good money after bad?

Know your limiting factors

What are the “givens”? What constraints do you have that are not negotiable?
